Snyder Scores Feature Win In Final Race Of Season09/26/2009
The Vertech Motorsports team traveled to Berlin Raceway to try one last time to capture a win in 2009. The car started off OK quick in the first hot lap session but the crew made the right changes to make the car quick. Snyder qualified with a 13.238 which was good for fast time until Mike Ling knocked him to second with a 13.188. The team made some pretty big changes to the car for the heat race, assuming the track would loosen up. The changes seemed to work as Snyder came from 6th to 3rd within 2 laps in the heat race. He was able to hang on to 3rd where he would finish the race. In the feature Snyder had to start on the outside of the 4th row in 8th place, and was hungry to get his first feature win in the Sprint Car. On the start Snyder made a bold move to the outside taking it 3 wide into turn one. He managed to make it stick and passed 3 cars in the first lap. The car was good and Snyder continued to work the high groove, working his way to 3rd place, Snyder was passed by Mike Ling but shortly after he passed Jason Blonde to take 3rd back. On lap 14 there was a caution when Sondi Eden got into the wall, which bunched the field back up. On the restart, Snyder jumped on the outside of Ling and got around him, he then followed suit going around Goff on the outside in turns three and four, taking the lead. After that, Snyder checked out, beating 2nd place Chad Goff by over 5 seconds. We would like to thank Competition Race Fuels, Purity Cylinder gasses, and RS Biomedical for their support this year. Also, we would like to recognize our crew for really working hard and sticking with it through our string of bad luck. We are looking forward to 2010 where we have some big things planned. Thanks to all of the fans that have supported us! Check the site often, as it will still be updated throughout the winter.

Snyder captures a top 5 finish at Angola Speedway09/06/2009
The Vertech Motorsports team traveled to Angola, IN. to cap off the long labor day weekend Sunday. 31 sprint cars were in attendance so it looked like Snyder had a lot of work ahead of him. In hot laps Snyders car was good, but a bearing in the rear end came apart so the team missed the second hot lap session trying to replace it. Brian and Robert worked tirelessly to get Snyder on the track for qualifying and they succeeded. Snyder was able to qualify 8th quick even after missing the second hot lap session. In the heat Snyder started 5th, and had a good run going until he got into a car in front of him and broke a brake line off. With 31 cars, he would be forced to run the B-main. Starting in the second row, Snyder would be able to hold off for a 3rd place finish in the B, putting him in the feature. Shortly after the B-main a rain delay would hold the race off till almost midnight. Snyder had to start 7th in the feature, and had a great start coming off of turn four. The first two starts were no good because of cautions. Brian and Robert made great adjustments on the car, it was handling great. Snyder battled with Bloom, Lower and McCune the entire race and was able to pull off a 4th place finish. A great way to finish the weekend, and gear up for the next race. None of this would be possible without the help of Brian, Robert, Deb, Papa, and the rest of the crew, so i’d like to thank all of them for sticking with me through all of our problems

Handling problems at Berlin Raceway 09/05/2009
Right off of a good night at Dixie expectations were set high for Berlin Raceway. The Vertech Motorsports team had a pretty good car in hot laps, but they were fighting a loose condition the entire time. Snyder qualified 4th with a 13.229. The team made adjustments to try tightening the car up but it seemed like the car just kept getting worse. Snyder finished 4th in the heat race from a 5th place starting spot. In the feature Snyder started in 7th place, the car was loose from the beginning and around lap 10 Snyder spun his car on the backstretch. He restarted, ran a few more laps and came in because the car was so ill handling. The team looks forward to the next race at Berlin on September 26th.

Bitter sweet weekend ends with good run at Owosso07/04/2009
Derek Snyder and the Vertech Motorsports team traveled to Dixie speedway friday night with hopes of turning some of their bad luck around. Snyder came out of the box strong when he was 2nd quick in hot laps. The team made small changes before qualifying and Snyder went out ready to set another quick time, Snyder went into turn one and slid up the track into the wall, nobody was sure what happened but something may have broke. The team was about ready to load it up when members from several other teams jumped in and got the car fixed for the heat race. Snyder had to start in the back of the heat race but quickly worked his way up to third and was working over 2nd place on the last lap. Robert Snyder made a couple of changes for the feature and the car was on a rail as Snyder picked off cars one by one, coming from last to 9th place in just 10 laps. Snyder had closed up a straightaway gap to the leaders when the U-joint failed, taking him out of contention. The next morning the team took the car down to Troy Underwoods shop and thrashed to get it back together for the Owosso race. After all of the work the team had done, Snyder was able to qualify in 11th position. Snyder started on the second row of the heat race and was running hard, avoiding a spin right in front of him. He was able to get to 2nd and stay there with an ill handling race car. For the feature the Vertech Motorsports team changed almost everything on the car in hopes to make it better, and better it was. Snyder charged from 11th to a 6th place finish in the feature, avoiding wrecks the entire way. This weekend was an exciting roller coaster ride for the team but the perseverance paid off.

Snyder sets fast time for 3rd time at Berlin 06/27/2009
The Vertech Motorsports team traveled to one of their favorite tracks, Berlin Raceway in hopes to break the track record and break the string of bad luck plaguing the team. In hot laps the car was not very quick, but Robert and Brian made the necessary changes to adjust to a hot slick track to give Snyder a car he could put back on the Pole for the 3rd consecutive time at Berlin with a time of 13.150. Snyder Started 6th in his heat race and battled his way to a 4th place finish. With threatening weather in the area Snyder knew he had to make his move quick in the feature. With a 10th place starting spot, Snyder took to the high grove moving to 7th in just a few laps. The car was quick and Snyder was moving on the leaders when something in the driveline broke taking Snyder out of yet another race. The team will be running Dixie Speedway next on July 3rd.

Derek Snyder and the Vertech Motorsports team made their way to the fast 1/2 mile of Toledo Speedway. Engine problems took Snyder out of the last race but things were looking promising after hot laps this weekend. In qualifying Snyder turned a 13.212 which was good enough for a 5th place qualifying position. Having to start towards the back of his heat, Snyder held on for a 6th place finish and had to run the B-Main. Snyder started on the front row of the B and held on to second place to make his way into the feature. Starting in the second row of the feature Snyder had a good start taking over the 3rd spot, battling some handling issues he got shuffled back to 5th. Snyder held onto 5th for most of the race until getting into the grass and loosing a few more. Derek held on to 8th place and finally got a finish which is a huge spirit booster for the team. The Vertech Motorsports looks forward to the next race at Berlin where they will give the track record another run.

Snyder tries the high banks of Salem04/25/2009
Derek Snyder and the Vertech Motorsports team took the long drive to their season opener at the extremely fast high banked Salem Speedway. The team practiced on friday and had Snyder @ 14.6 seconds in only his second time ever on the track, which was only a few tenths off of the track record. On Saturday Snyder was fast in hot lap sessions but had some oil pressure issues nagging at them. Snyder qualified with a quick 14.659 which was good for 3rd place of 25 cars. In his heat race, Snyder got a great start from his 6th place starting position, and was able to charge to a 3rd place finish. Snyder started on the outside of the 4th row in the feature, he had a good start but fell back and had to drop out early because of oil pressure problems, finishing in 14th. The team looks to get the problems resolved and have a better showing at winchester. The salem race can be seen on the comcast network thursday may 7th and on www.mustseeracing.com.
