Derek Snyder was born in Lansing, Michigan, moved to Dansville, MI. when he was 10 and recently moved back to Lansing. Derek is now 26 years old and works with his Dad Robert at RS Biomedical Inc. He also is going to school at LCC and is going towards a Race Engine Specialist degree. Derek is a third generation race car driver preceded by his dad Robert and his grandpa Robert Sr. (AKA papa). Derek started racing at the age of 7 in quarter midgets. Unfortunately, Derek had to quit after 3 years because of finances. At the age of 20 he was able to start racing again, with the help of his dad and Mike Witzman, he has now been racing national midgets for 4 years and is now jumping into 410 sprint cars. Derek enjoys Mountain Biking, Bowling, Airsoft, and playing Video Games in his spare time.
